As people of one globe, we all are part of the good or bad economy that is shaking our world. If we are not touched directly by the economic blessings or crisis, we know people that are affected by it.

The question is not who is affected by it, as they say, we are all in the same boat; but how do we overcome when the adversities that are created by the economic crisis affect us?

Here are the tips and strategies I think would help ease the pain of going through adversities, and offer a solution to bring about overcoming our challenges successfully…

Tip 1

  • No matter what circumstances we may be facing, the first thing in managing the situation is not to panic. What ever it is that is happening in our lives, is already here.

What we need to do now is being calm and in control, as opposed to losing our composure and become unrealistically frustrated. Accepting the fact earlier in any obstacle in life, and starting to look for solutions, is more helpful than being overwhelmed and taken over by our circumstances.

The first step is to contain our emotions and deal with the problem in the best logical and realistic way. We shouldn’t get lost in our circumstances, but remain focused on our next best option and take steps that would in time make things a little better.

Tip2

  • What looks as if the worst time of our lives, may not be as bad as we make it seem. The most important things that we humans need everyday that cost money are food, clothing, and housing; but in most cases it is not lack of the basic needs that we are worried about…

We are worried about living less than our comfort zone. Since we all have different levels of comfort zone, our discomfort differs, but we all suffer the same pain. As they say in my country, a child who a mother went to fetch water, cries the same as a child whose mother died.

As you face circumstances, obstacles, challenges, misfortune, adversities, and any problem that life throws at you, consider thinking about it in the following way.

Can I live without what ever it is that I am fighting to keep? Is it a need or a want? Does it hurt my wellbeing or my family’s wellbeing, or is it just an inconvenience?

Of course, you can come up with tons of similar questions to weigh your situation… Once you start looking at things in different perspectives, you can be at ease with the way your life is going…

Tip 3

  • Don’t forget to count your blessings. You may be broke financially, but if you have a healthy family…you have a lot to be thankful for.

You may not have a car…but you do have several pairs of shoes and warm jacket while majority of the world population walks barefoot and has one or two changes of cloth to their names.

I know these things, I am telling you from my own personal life experience. I was raised an orphan in Ethiopia. I had lived the destitute life where there were no everyday showers, where there were no three meals a day, where I had to sit and wait for my cloth to dry in the sun, once I washed it by the river…so I can wear it again and go back home.

I didn’t have a pair of shoes… so I had tons of thorns not only poked into my skin but broke into my sole. From wearing the same clothes over and over, and from lack of bathing, I had head lice and lice that lived in my cloth. Boy… was I itching!

Believe me, there are a lot worst situations in life than what you are going through. I say this not to make you feel sorry for me, because I am alright now; but to help you understand the depth of what can be…in life.

Just think about all the good things in your life and be grateful. The more you count your blessings the more blessings you experience in your life.

Like they say, misery loves company. Don’t you let yourself be a company to misery but live with hope… Hope is a bridge to salvation!

That is all for today, I will leave you with my favorite mentor’s favorite slogan, Brendon Burchard says, Live fully, Love Openly, Go out and Make a Difference. If I can add to what Brandon said, Live Life beyond You. Think of others and put yourself in their shoes, when you do that you will start to see that your life is not that bad after all.
